Dosage and Administration
For oral administration
500 ml / 500 liter of drinking water (25 ppm) for continuous medication over 48 hours, or 1500 ml / 500 liter of drinking water (75 ppm) given for 8 hours per day, on 2 consecutive days.
This corresponds to a dose rate of 7 mg of toltrazuril /kg body weight /day for 2 consecutive days.
Side Effect:
Administration to animals with impaired hepatic and/or renal function.
Warning: Toltrazuril does not interfere with the development of immunity against coccidiosis. As with all anti-coocidials, prolonged use may result in the development of resistant strains.
As with any anti-parasitic agent, frequent and repeated use of anti-protozoal agents from the same class of active substances and underdosing due to underestimation of the live weight can lead to the development of resistance.
